Tension has erupted within the APC in Adamawa State after delegates in the Gombi-Hong Federal Constituency accused the party’s primary election committee of abandoning the House of Representatives primary process.
According to aggrieved party members, delegates from all 22 wards had gathered and waited for the official committee expected to conduct the exercise, but the team allegedly turned back from Song Local Government Area without reaching Gombi-Hong.
The development has sparked outrage among party loyalists, with some accusing the APC leadership of attempting to undermine the democratic process and disenfranchise delegates in the constituency.
As of the time of filing this report, delegates were still reportedly waiting at the venue, insisting that any result declared without the committee’s presence would be rejected as illegal and fraudulent.
