“12 Years in Darkness” — Michika, Madagali Residents Told to Vote Out Failed Leaders

A fresh wave of criticism has emerged over the prolonged electricity blackout affecting Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas in Adamawa State, with residents accusing political leaders of neglect and failed promises.

In a strongly worded statement, social commentator Vahya Yame Kwache (VYK) lamented that the communities have remained without stable electricity since Boko Haram insurgents destroyed high-tension power lines in 2014.

He alleged that despite repeated political promises over the years, no meaningful effort has been made to reconnect the affected areas to the national grid, forcing residents and businesses to survive in darkness for over a decade.

The statement further urged voters to reject leaders who fail to deliver basic infrastructure and instead support candidates willing to address the long-standing electricity crisis and other developmental challenges facing the constituency.
