The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to screen former President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday, May 19, as its sole presidential aspirant ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to a statement from a PDP faction led by Tanimu Turaki, SAN, Jonathan is currently the only aspirant in the presidential race within the party structure.
The screening committee is made up of prominent party figures including former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Chief Olabode George, Babangida Aliyu, Maryam Ciroma, Zainab Maina, and other senior members of the party.
The faction also disclosed that it will commence nationwide screening of other aspirants for National Assembly and governorship positions as part of preparations for the 2027 elections, in line with its guidelines and timetable.
