“Barka Must Go!” — Angry Gombi-Hong Constituents Reject APC Automatic Ticket Plan

Some constituents from the Gombi–Hong Federal Constituency on Thursday staged a protest against alleged plans to grant an automatic APC ticket to Rt. Hon. James Barka for a second term in the House of Representatives.

The protesters, made up of party members and residents, accused the lawmaker of poor representation and lack of visible development across the constituency despite his years in public service.

They insisted that the constituency deserves accountable leadership and rejected any attempt to impose a candidate ahead of the elections.

The development is believed to reflect growing internal tension within the APC in the area ahead of the next general elections.
