According to a report by SaharaReporters, military sources have alleged that senior security authorities are tightening control over the release of information regarding Boko Haram and ISWAP attacks following recent incidents in Yobe State.
The report claimed this followed coordinated attacks on two military formations in Gujba LGA, where several personnel were reportedly killed during midnight raids in Buniyadi and Buni Gari.
The sources further alleged that commanders were advised to limit public disclosure of operational setbacks, with instructions said to be linked to concerns over security communication ahead of the 2027 elections.
They also claimed personnel have been warned against leaking operational details to journalists.
However, these claims remain unverified and have not been officially confirmed by the Nigerian Army or the Office of the National Security Adviser.
