Adamawa medical students cry out: ₦8,200 allowance no longer sustainable

Complaint by medical students under Adamawa State Government sponsorship.

According to them, the ₦8,200 monthly allowance they currently receive can no longer cover anything in today’s economy not transport, not feeding, not accommodation support, and definitely not medical study materials.

Medical students don’t have the luxury of side jobs. Their days are packed with lectures, labs, clinical postings, and long hours in the hospital. Many said the financial stress is already affecting their welfare, focus, and academic performance.

They are appealing to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to please review the allowance and make it more realistic and sustainable. They believe this will reduce hardship and help them concentrate on becoming the doctors Adamawa State needs.
