Possible Flood Alert in Yola and Jimeta as Water Levels Rise in Dougirei Hills

These live photos taken from the hills of Dougirei show a large flow of water running downhill — a sign that flooding may soon occur.

This rising water poses a serious threat to nearby farms and houses, especially in low-lying parts of Yola and Jimeta.

It’s rare to see this much water without a release from the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon.

Residents are advised to stay alert, take precautions, and prepare for possible flooding. The government is also urged to act fast and put preventive measures in place.
