Police Launch Investigation Into Killing of Cleric in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has opened an investigation into the killing of an Anglican priest, Rev. Emmanuel Ezeokwe, in Song Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly took place in the early hours of Tuesday in Zinai Village, Bolki, when unknown gunmen attacked and shot the cleric.
Police spokesperson SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje confirmed the development, stating that officers responded after receiving a report from a resident. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
Authorities said initial findings at the scene included the recovery of spent AK-47 shells.
The Commissioner of Police has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to handle the case, while tactical teams have been deployed to track down those responsible.
The police also appealed to the public to remain calm and assist with any information that could support the investigation.
