FG Declares Friday, September 5, 2025, Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Mawlid

The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

The minister congratulated Muslims across the country and urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria. He further called for tolerance, love, and peaceful coexistence among citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

Eid-ul-Mawlid is observed annually by Muslims worldwide as a time of reflection on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
