A soldier’s surprise marriage proposal stole the show at the NYSC 2024 Batch B Stream II Passing-Out Parade (POP) held in Jimeta-Yola, Adamawa State.

Lance Corporal Ibrahim A. left the crowd emotional when he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Bilkisu, during the official event. The ceremony, which took place at the Federal Secretariat Complex, was attended by NYSC officials, corps members, security officers, and invited guests.
After the official activities ended, Lance Corporal Ibrahim, dressed in his military uniform, walked confidently toward Bilkisu. In front of friends and colleagues, he knelt down and asked for her hand in marriage — a moment that surprised everyone and was followed by loud cheers and applause.

An excited and emotional Bilkisu happily said “Yes,” as fellow corps members and military personnel celebrated the touching moment.

NYSC officials described the proposal as a beautiful show of love, unity, and courage — values that represent the true spirit of the National Youth Service Corps.
Photos and videos of the proposal have since gone viral on social media, with many praising the couple for their love and boldness.

As Ibrahim and Bilkisu prepare for their future together, their story remains a shining example of the strong connections and unexpected blessings that come from national service.
