The Federal Government has honored 17-year-old Nafisah Abdullahi from Yobe State with a cash prize of ₦200,000 after she emerged winner at the TeenEagle Global English Contest 2025 held in London.
The award was presented on Thursday, August 28, 2025, by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, at a ceremony in Abuja.
Nafisah, a student of Nigerian Tulip International College, defeated contestants from 69 countries to clinch the top spot in the competition. Another Nigerian student, 15-year-old Rukayya Muhammad Fema, also excelled by winning the debate category.
Their outstanding performance has attracted wide recognition. The Atiku Abubakar Foundation earlier awarded the champions full scholarships, while the Yobe State Government has promised to hold a special event to celebrate them.
This global victory highlights the exceptional talent and brilliance of Nigerian students on the international stage.
