The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially opened applications for its N50,000 grant aimed at supporting small business owners operating at the grassroots level.
According to the announcement, the grant is part of the Federal Government’s renewed efforts to boost microeconomic activities, promote entrepreneurship, and alleviate poverty, especially among local business operators.
The initiative targets small-scale entrepreneurs across all 774 local government areas in the country. Qualified applicants will receive a one-time financial support of ₦50,000 to expand or sustain their businesses.

Business owners operating at the local government level
Individuals engaged in micro or small-scale businesses
Applicants must have valid means of identification
A verifiable business location within the local government area
The government stated that the grant is designed to reach one million nano businesses across the country, especially those that have limited access to traditional financing.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply through the official government portal or designated registration centers within their local governments.
The application window is expected to run for a limited time, and applicants are urged to register as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
This initiative falls under the Federal Government's broader economic recovery plan and aims to empower vulnerable business owners who contribute significantly to local economies.
