Davido 5ive Tour: Mr. Siri Oliver Brutally Beaten by Soldiers at Davido’s Show — Mistaken for Shilla Boys (Criminals), Family and Friends Call for Justice

During Davido’s 5ive Tour concert, an innocent man named Mr. Siri Oliver was brutally beaten by soldiers from the 23 Brigade after being mistaken for a criminal.

According to his friend Ismail Sa’ad, Oliver was standing near the soldiers when a suspected shilla boy (street thief) quietly approached one of them with a knife, apparently trying to attack the soldier and steal his phone.

Seeing the danger, Oliver bravely stepped in to protect the soldier and pushed the thief away. Unfortunately, during the struggle, the thief stabbed Oliver in the hand before escaping.

When the soldiers turned around after hearing the commotion, they misunderstood what had happened. Believing Oliver was the attacker — and mistaking him for one of the shilla boys (street thieves) — they pounced on him and beat him severely without asking any questions.

Witnesses said the beating only stopped when one of the soldiers, who personally knew Oliver, identified him as innocent. By then, Oliver was bleeding heavily, and one of his eyes was swollen shut.

His friends quickly rushed him to the hospital for treatment. The following day, one of the soldiers reportedly visited the hospital to apologize, admitting it was a mistake. However, no official action or compensation has been taken.

Now, Oliver’s family and friends are demanding justice. They are calling on the Adamawa State Government, the Nigerian Army, and human rights organizations to investigate the soldiers from the 23 Brigade involved in the assault and ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Witnesses also confirmed that the knife used by the thief was recovered at the scene, proving Oliver’s innocence.
