Former Adamawa North lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo, has revealed that he recently embarked on a 31-day fast and prayer in search of divine guidance on which political party to join next.
Abbo, who was first elected to the Senate in 2019 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2020, admitted that his past move was a mistake because it was done without seeking God’s direction.
Speaking to journalists, the former senator explained that he would not repeat such an error. He stressed that his decision to leave the PDP years ago was hasty and based on pressure, not prayer.
“In 2020, I left PDP for APC without praying and asking God’s direction. That was my mistake. This time, I undertook 31 days of fasting and prayers, seeking divine guidance to know where I truly belong,” he said.
Abbo noted that he is now waiting for God’s direction and the outcome of his spiritual exercise before making his next political move. He emphasized that negotiations with stakeholders would also be guided by his faith and inner conviction.
The former senator’s remarks have sparked discussions in political circles, as observers watch closely to see which party he will eventually align with ahead of the coming political season.
