Breaking: NNPCL Boss, Bayo Ojulari, Says His Life is Under Threat

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Bayo Ojulari, has raised alarm that his life and those of his management team are in danger.

Ojulari, who spoke on Thursday at the NNPCL headquarters in Abuja during a visit by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), said some powerful people are plotting to remove him from office.

According to him, his “only offense” is trying to carry out reforms to fix Nigeria’s refineries, in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He explained that the company is also looking at adopting the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) model to bring the refineries back to full operation.

Ojulari said: “I am under attack. There are threats to my life and to the lives of some members of the management team simply because we want to do the right thing.”

Meanwhile, PENGASSAN, led by its president Comrade Festus Osifo, pledged full support for Ojulari and the NNPCL management. The union said it would stand by the company in its effort to reform the oil and gas sector.
