Port Harcourt, August 11, 2025 — The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has declared its readiness to contest for Nigeria’s highest political offices in the 2027 general elections, including the presidency currently held by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at a party event in Port Harcourt, state leaders of the ADC announced that the party’s membership has grown rapidly, now surpassing 800,000 registered members in Rivers State alone. They also revealed that several high-profile politicians have joined the party in recent months.
According to the ADC, the surge in support signals a shift in political momentum, and the party is determined to offer Nigerians a “credible and people-driven alternative” in 2027.
Party leaders say their focus will be on building strong grassroots structures and fielding competent candidates for all positions—from local government to the presidency.
